Clear polyester film is a colorless, transparent, glossy film with excellent mechanical properties, high rigidity, hardness and toughness, puncture resistance, friction resistance, high and low-temperature resistance, chemical resistance, oil resistance, air tightness, and good fragrance retention, and is one of the commonly used permeability barrier composite films substrates.
Clear polyester film has a fairly low water vapor permeability, similar to that of low-density polyethylene, and a low permeability to air and odor, similar to nylon. It is resistant to dilute acids and alkalis, but concentrated acids and alkalis can interact with it. Resistant to most solvents, oils, and fats.
Clear polyester film has good tear resistance and folding durability and is abrasion resistant. It has good impact resistance and can be maintained up to approximately -70°C: excellent electrical insulation properties, breakdown strength, dielectric properties, and high volume resistivity.
The unstretched and oriented clear polyester film can be thermoformed. After stretching and orientation, the unheated-set film can be used as a shrink film with a shrinkage temperature of approx. 100°C.
The clear polyester film can be vacuum metalized and the metalized film has excellent decorative properties. Clear polyester film has a wide range of applications in packaging, industry, and agriculture, mainly as insulation pads, electronic materials, holographic printing tapes, and spray-out substrates.
